The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the ASU West Valley campus is seeking a Program Manager focused on financial aid and scholarships to be a part of our undergraduate services recruitment and retention teams. This position counsels and confers with both current and prospective students within various programs of study; and provides financial guidance and understanding around procedures, policies, processes, technical guidance and problem resolution around building viable financial plans and support for the cost of attendance at Arizona State University, New College and the West Valley campus. This position is located at ASU’s West Valley campus in Glendale, AZ with a Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm schedule including some nights and weekends as needed for special events.

**Essential Duties**
- Assists undergraduate students with financial aid and scholarship support as they persist through their academic career.
- Counsels and confers with students providing financial and scholarship procedures, policies, goals and objectives, technical guidance and problem-resolution
- Directs students to appropriate units for further guidance as needed
- Provides support at student orientation, Sun Devil Days, Experience ASU, and other university, high school and community college events as appropriate
- Builds rapport and supports students holistically through their transition to the university and beyond
- Holds financial and scholarship appointments with prospective and current students through an online scheduling system.
- Liaisons with students and faculty, financial aid, and other campus resources to remove barriers for our currently enrolled undergraduate students
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence, good judgment, and critical thinking in all interactions, projects, and duties as assigned
- Assists in the identification of target groups in consultation with recruitment and retention teams for additional financial and scholarship outreach and support
- Assists in the collaboration with other colleges and central university offices to ensure a coordinated approach to student recruitment and retention activities
- Assists with review of college student support initiatives to ensure student, faculty and administration needs are met
- Assists with the development of goals and objectives for the unit, in support of the college strategic plan
- Maintains student records on various databases, creates and provides reports
- Provides contact point for enrolled and prospective student information
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars and other student support-related meetings
- Implements student recruitment initiatives and participates in the evaluation of such initiatives
- Assists in providing cross-training to program staff as required
- Works with peer mentors directly and collaborates to intervene with at-risk students
- Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
