**Position Overview**

The Legal Project Assistant - Intellectual Property will play a critical role in supporting the Technology & Intellectual Property practice group in various IP-related projects. This position will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative departments to ensure the smooth execution of IP cases and initiatives.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with the preparation of responses to Office Actions, Notice of Allowance, Search Reports, Statements of Use/Extensions of Time, and preparing/filing Trademark Renewal documents
- Present information effectively to lawyers, paralegals, and clients and responds promptly to questions
- Initiate and manage the submission of new clients and matters for large portfolios; collaborate with New Business/Conflicts Department on process and resolution of issues
- Profile and upload documents in the Firm’s electronic document management system
- Partner with Finance team and attorneys in preparation of client invoices
- Submit invoices and expenses for attorneys in Firm’s expense reimbursement software
- Liaise with Firm’s Business Services Departments to ensure highest quality of client service
- Schedule examiner interviews
- Track and record time in Firm’s time entry system as instructed
- Contribute to the overall team effort by working with all members and levels of personnel in various locations throughout the Firm
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to organize large amounts of data, both hardcopy and electronic, into an easily retrievable system
- Strong technical skills and knowledge using Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook and willingness to learn new technology
- Ability to deal professionally with all levels of clients, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Positive attitude, team player, pro-active and able to handle pressure
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Ability to follow up as necessary to ensure both internal and external deadlines are met
- Ability to be flexible, able to adapt to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments
- Ability to work occasional extended hours with little or no notice
- Ability to regularly report to work on the days and times scheduled

**Travel**

No travel is required for this position.

**Education/Experience/Certifications**
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum two years' experience in a law firm or other professional services company
- Prior experience in IP-related role is advantageous but not required
