Direct Support Professional

**Job Overview**
Basic Function:
To maintain a safe, clean home environment for each resident, supporting them in their programming, medical, and personal needs.
Specific Duties:
1. Assure that the home is a safe, clean, and functional environment, reporting all maintenance problems to the proper personnel.
2. Follow through with resident program plans as described in the personal plan.
3. Counsel residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems.
4. Assist in planning recreational activities.
5. Assist in accurate record keeping according the Department of Human Services, CILA standards.
6. Keep an accurate record of residents’ activities and programming to include necessary behavioral and medical documentation.
7. Transport residents to appointments as needed.
8. Supervise the residents while in the home and on outings.
9. Follow planned menus.
10. Attend residential staff meetings and in-service training.
11. Administer minor first aid to residents when needed.
12. Carry out all other responsibilities that the Residential Coordinator or Executive Director may request.
**Education, Training, and Experience**:
Must meet the requirements as stated by the Department of Human Services for DSP status. High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. CPR and First Aid certificates are required. Clearance from criminal background check and Healthcare Worker Registry.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $18.25 per hour
