**Join the HJF Team**
HJF is seeking a **Postdoctoral Fellow - Bioinformatics **to perform bioinformatics and data science research.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
**Responsibilities**:
- Performs bioinformatics analysis of molecular profiling data such as DNA whole genome sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, gene panel sequencing.
- Assists in developing multi-omics hypotheses for research questions, with statistical testing procedures and graphical displays.
- Analyzes data and results for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals.
- Keeps detailed records of analytical experiments
Qualifications:
**Education and Experience**
- Doctoral degree
- Minimum of 0-5 years experience required.
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Required bioinformatics analysis experience of sequencing, proteomics, and/or other large scale molecular profiling data
- Required programming experience with R and/or python, or similar languages; linux compute cluster environment
- Experience with TCGA, CPTAC, HTAN, APOLO, 1,000 genome, ICGC or related molecular data sets.
- Experience with machine learning analytics, cloud analysis environments, such as google cloud platform.- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check

**Physical Capabilities**
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
**Work Environment**
- This position will take place primarily in a office setting.
**Some positions or sites may require that the incumbent be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be required.**
**This is a 1-year position, with the possibility of extension given funding availability and the ongoing needs of the program.**
**Note: This work site requires that Non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years.**
