**Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 1pm - 10pm & Saturday - Sunday 10am - 7pm**

**About the Job**: As a **Veterinary Assistant **in **Urgent Care** you will be responsible for:

- Triaging patients
- Obtaining and reporting vitals, prioritizing patient treatments and delegating tasks if needed
- Recognize changes in patient status and report to doctor
- Utilizing different imaging modalities (radiographs,ultrasound)
- Administer and monitor patients for anesthetic/sedation procedures

**Compensation range: $18.42 - $23.53 hourly. **Compensation is based on experience and education.

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as an intermediary between doctor and client for non-essential communication
- Collect and summarize detailed histories regarding patients that present through the ER following triage with ER Technicians
- Create and present treatment plans to client
- Communicate between doctors and technicians what treatments (blood draws, procedures, etc.) need to be done.
- Assist doctor with patient related tasks through entirety of shift.
- Assist with collecting deposits.
- Manage consent forms with client.
- Document conversations between clients and the attending doctor.
- Handle miscellaneous prescriptions requests, client callbacks, labwork entries etc.

**About You**:

- ** 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required.** Recent graduates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or students in the field will be considered first.
