Band Camp

**REPORTS TO**:Band Director

The Cedar Springs High School Marching Band has an immediate opening for a Band Camp Mellophone Instructor for the week of band camp, August 5-August 9, 2024, with the possibility to be a brass, visual, or marching instructor for the entirety of the season.

Employment will begin August 5, pending completion of the Human Resources meeting and completion of all required paperwork.

**Responsibilities**:

- Attendance at band camp
- Assist with show design
- Instruction of fundamental playing skills, show music, marching fundamentals, and show drill to the mellophone section
- Creating a positive, while challenging and competitive environment for students to achieve excellence
- Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in marching in high school, at the collegiate level, in winter activities, or DCI preferred
- Previous successful marching band instruction at the high school level
- Extensive knowledge of mellophone/brass technique and instruction
- Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
- Able to have effective and positive communication with students, staff members and directors
- Responsible, professional, embodies high ethical standards and integrity

Pay will be $10.50 per hour.
