Summer Day Camp Assistant

**Summary**: Under the direction of the Youth Services Manager, the Youth Services Program Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, classroom management, customer/client service and general support of KYCC’s Elementary Summer Day Camp Program. Working hours are either 8:30am - 2:00pm OR 12:00pm - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Performance is reviewed on a continuous basis with specific goals and objectives identified throughout position tenure. **This is a part-time, temporary (expected to end August 5th 2024), non-exempt position working about 25 hours a week**.

**Duties / Responsibilities**:

- **Coordinate and facilitate afterschool program services for school-aged children by**:

- Assisting in providing instructional and extracurricular activities.
- Supervising program participants to ensure safety and quality of services.
- Assisting in overseeing classroom management and classroom volunteers.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of lesson plans.
- Providing support for student drop-off and pick-up procedures at program site.
- Utilizing agency curriculum as assigned.
- Preparing for and overseeing student nutrition breaks.
- Monitoring and documenting participant and/or program performance.
- Recording participant attendance and upkeep of other program data.
- Correcting/scoring student assessments and logging performance.
- Reporting to the Supervisor on program progress.
- **Attend relevant meetings, trainings, events and activities.**:

- **Perform other related duties as assigned by the Youth Services Supervisor and/or Youth Services Manager.**

**Minimum Requirements / Qualifications (All applicants MUST meet the minimum qualifications)**:

- A High School diploma.
- A minimum of six (6) months experience working with youth in school or afterschool program setting.
- Ability to organize and prepare documentation in a timely manner.
- Strong commitment to working with a multicultural community.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of the use and operation of personal computers.
- Strong organizational, written, and communication skills.
- Self-directing and the ability to work independently as required.
- Proof of passing a TB test and fingerprinting clearance (Live Scan).
- Physical requirements: lifting/moving program supplies and equipment; seeing to observe and supervise children and to inspect documents; hearing a child calling for help; ability to communicate with KYCC staff, clients and public; sitting and standing for extended periods of time; bending, kneeling and reaching to retrieve and replace files; and dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment.

Desired Qualifications:

- Bilingual capacity (English/Spanish AND/OR English/Korean).
- Certification in CPR and First
- Aid Training

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
