The Faculty of Arts and Sciences are the largest academic unit at Rutgers-Camden, delivering a wide array of degree programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels in the humanities, natural sciences, social sciences, and fine arts. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences includes three schools: the **College of Arts and Sciences**, **University College**, and the **Graduate School**.**Posting Summary**
- This position reports to the Business Manager I of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University-Camden, and is a part of the business office for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office. The Business Specialist is responsible for supporting a broad range of business operations and administrative activities including fiscal management, budget, accounting, financial reporting, and analyses. This position works to support the business manager in financial planning and the administration for multiple departments, programs, and initiatives. They will be responsible for developing financial models, preparing analyses and annual budgets, and monitoring operating funds to support financial operations and strategic planning efforts. They will assist the Business Manager in achieving financial objectives and reporting goals; will manage and analyze data; and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for internal and external purposes for key units within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, including, but not limited to departments, programs, centers, grant accounts, and offices.
In addition, the Business Specialist will prepare and/or approve journal entries, reconciliations, requisitions, purchase orders, expense reports, payroll and cash transmittal as assigned by the Business Manager. They will support the Business Manager to accomplish year-end plans and executes transactions to maximize available resources. This position will be relied on to provide guidance on improvement of internal processes and to work towards those process improvements.
