**Essential Duties**:

- Notify and interview offenders charged with violations of agency, facility, and unit rules and regulations; explain charges to offenders, facility employees; investigates allegations; conduct interviews, prepare written summaries of witness statements; and obtain all available forms of evidence.
- Perform varied clerical duties including performing data entry functions.
- Enter work requests and preventative maintenance information into maintenance management systems.
- Receive, record, and distribute work orders to maintenance staff as directed by supervisor.
- Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and other required forms in a timely manner.
- Maintain files on department records, forms, and correspondence sent, received, and/or requiring further action.
- Schedule vendors as directed by supervisor to perform outside the scope of facility staff.
- Proofread records or forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
- Receive telephone calls and visitors, tactfully referring to the proper individual.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) required.
- One (1) year related experience, including proficiency with various word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and computer data entry experience preferred.
- A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
- Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
