- and four-year olds in 12 locations across Washington, DC, employing our innovative and award winning instructional model, called **Every Child Ready (ECR)**. This instructional model provides educators with tools and resources for “What to Teach”, “How to Teach” and “How to Measure Success.” Our instructional model is also used with partners across the nation. We continuously test and improve this model through feedback from AppleTree educators, partners and other stakeholders to ensure that children are learning and exploring through play and appropriate instruction.**:
**Position Summary**:

- and organization-level data into valuable insights. This team member will be instrumental in contributing to refining and developing dashboards, visuals and other data tools and resources for AppleTree. Strong understanding of and experience with Excel/Google Sheets, scripting languages (Google Apps Script preferred), and MySQL or a similar database querying language is required. There is a preference for education industry experience working with student, teacher, and school-level data.

Note: 100% Remote work or at our corporate office in SE Washington DC.

**What you’ll do**
- Analysis and Interpretation_- Deliver organized and visualized data to help users easily process the information in a meaningful way through dashboards, graphs, and tables-
- Create and maintain tools to help others visualize and manipulate data.-
- Answer questions about children, teachers, and schools using multiple data sources, both independently and under the direction of the Director of Research & Impact-
- Support staff in data management and data visualization, conducting needs assessments and providing services as needed-
- Support maintenance of an existing MySQL database and any future database and data warehousing toolsSupport the maintenance of data security and data integrity- Communication_- Work closely with team members to utilize available data for decision-making-
- Partners with stakeholders to execute business plans based on the data-
- Support team members in using data and technology tools to improve internal workflows-
- Assist and/or lead facilitating professional development around data use and interpretation as needed**_ Contributes to a community of practice_**:

- Effectively use time and resources**What we’re looking for**- Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, or Statistics, or related field **_OR_** Master’s degree in Education/Psychology with a heavy research and analysis focus-
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience in data science required-
- Strong experience developing and manipulating spreadsheets for data analysis required-
- Experience with SQL databases and queries required-
- Experience working with API-based data sources required-
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Google Apps Script, JavaScript, R, Python) required-
- Experience with a variety of business intelligence tools and strategies-
- Experience with programs and programming languages used for data analytics is preferred (R, STATA, MPlus)-
- Experience working with person-based data (education, psychology)-
- Patience and the ability to communicate clearly to audiences with varying data comfort levels-
