Math Tutor

**Math Tutor - Mathnasium**

The role of our math tutors is to both teach our students math, and to create a fun & positive environment for our students. Tutors are trained in all aspects of math instruction; no prior experience is needed Our approach to instruction keeps the learning environment upbeat and fun.

**Schedule**:
Our center hours are after school & Sunday afternoons. Math tutors should be available to work at least 2 days a week. We understand that tutors usually have other responsibilities (such as school) and we will work with your schedule. We also hold a monthly staff meeting on Thursday evenings.

**Requirements**:
Personality Traits: Friendly, outgoing, warm, flexible, sense of humor, professional attitude, trustworthy, reliable.

Math Skills: Strong math skills through algebra II. Must have completed (or be currently enrolled in) precalculus.

Education: High school students, college students, and college grads are welcome to apply. No degree is required.

Experience: This is an entry-level position, and experience is not required. Preferred experience includes: working with children between the ages of 5 to 12, teaching in a classroom, learning center environment, or similar setting; tutoring others.

Commitment: A 1 year minimum commitment is preferred.

**Hiring Process**:
We will invite you in for an interview & employment (math) test. The test covers math through algebra, is no calculator, and takes 1-2 hours to complete.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 20 per week
