**Minimum Qualifications**

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).*

Three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.

**Duties Description**

Region 8 anticipates filling a full-time SG-13 Program Aide in the Planning & Program Management Group.
Duties will include:

- Assist with the preparation and processing of hiring, purchasing and travel needs for the group.
- Provide Program Management Unit with administrative support including preparing technical meeting notes, scheduling meetings, and processing routine correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to Regional FOIL’s Officer and assist with the processing of less complex, routine requests.
- Assist with the coordination of the regional claims program including processing inquiries by compiling information working with various functional groups in the region and the AG’s office.
- Coordinate and prepare weekly program area reports.

**Additional Comments**

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
