Mathematics Consultant

**Wage**
Salary range: $35,000 - $52,500

**Location**
Norwell, MA

**General Responsibilities**
- Provide professional private tutoring and mathematics instruction
- Work one-on-one with students in grades 3-8 and 9-12
- Conduct learning assessments
- Provide services in person and via video conference at the Vested Academics Learning Center, Norwell, MA

**Basic Qualifications**
- ALL applicants **MUST BE MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS**:

- ALL applicants must successfully pass state and national background checks
- ALL applicants must be able to regularly commute to Norwell, MA office
- ALL applicants must be able to tutor in elementary math, geometry, algebra, and calculus
- ALL applicants must be able to tutor in the mathematics portions of the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, and ACT

ALL applicants **must have**:

- 5 or more years of professional work experience in a related field
- Excellent work references
- Outstanding communication skills
- Fluency in English

**Education Requirements**
Master’s degree or higher in mathematics or a related STEM field

**Additional Prerequisites**
- Must be able to **regularly commute to Norwell, MA office**:

- 5 or more years of professional work experience tutoring or teaching at the middle school, high school, or undergraduate level
- Outstanding verbal communication skills, especially when communicating with parents, students, and colleagues
- Have excellent instincts for managing client stress and anxiety, the ability to navigate the requests of a demanding clientele, and the foresight to head off problems before they arise
- Possess a high degree of professionalism, expertise, and the maturity to reach out to others for input and advice
- The ability to tactfully negotiate complicated family dynamics while upholding accepted professional and ethical standards
- Be excited about working for an established firm with a tight-knit team and positive work environment

**Physical Demands & Work Environment**
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must complete a background check, employment verification and other prescreening verifications, including financial background check.
