**A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CERTIFIED RISK ADJUSTMENT CODER**

As a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder, you play an essential role in our office. Through your accurate medical coding, you ensure that our patients receive the best possible treatment and that our clinic is fairly compensated. You begin your day by examining the upcoming appointment spreadsheet to identify the patients who need your expertise. Consulting their charts, you then create an accurate electronic coding review for the provider to approve. While creating the review, you take care to thoroughly document and support each Medicare risk adjustment (MRA) code.

At the conclusion of a patient's visit, you complete a health risk assessment or attestation, which ensures that our clinic receives the revenue we are due from each insurance company. Diligent and persistent, you take pride in reaching our productivity standards throughout the day while also maintaining top quality. You enjoy pitching in wherever you are needed to help us meet goals and deadlines. For you, efficiency is a pleasure, especially when you know that your hard work benefits both our patients and our clinic

**QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CERTIFIED RISK ADJUSTMENT CODER**

- Certification as a Certified Risk Coder (CRC)
- 2+ years of work experience in medical risk coding
- Medical knowledge

Certification as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered medical assistant (RMA) is preferred. Previous auditing experience is also preferred. Are you attentive to detail? Do you have great communication skills, both verbal and written? Are you an analytical thinker who enjoys investigating details? If yes, you might just be perfect for this medical coding position
