**SUMMARY**

The Youth Coach/Administrative Assistant provides support during Intensive Outpatient (IOP) groups, Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS) to youth, and administrative support to the program. This is a full-time position with evening hours. During IOP hours (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:00-7:00pm), Youth Coach/Administrative Assistant will support facilitation of groups (e.g. Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, art-based interventions, process groups, and behavioral activation) while modeling appropriate communication and problem-solving skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **include the following. _(Other duties may be assigned)_

Youth Coach:

- Provides skill building support to acute youth in IOP, helping them to develop and implement DBT skills, CBT skills, positive communication, emotional regulation, social skills, and coping skills.
- Provide IHBS which are individualized, strength-based interventions aimed at helping youth build skills for successful functioning in the home and community. Likewise, assisting the youth’s family to help the youth successfully navigate interpersonal relationships, schooling, and the community.
- Develop a safe environment that promotes honest sharing and connection with youth and staff.
- Act as a positive role model for youth to promote greater engagement in groups and treatment.
- Triage crisis situations with youth, including doing basic risk assessments, safety planning, and connecting with clinical staff as soon as possible
- Documents each intervention and sessions per NTST/Medi-Cal requirements and SDCC policies and procedures.
- Maintains clear, effective, and open communication between multi-disciplinary clinical staff and administrative personnel within and between SDCC programs.
- Utilizes supervision, consultation, and training as necessary to provide high quality services to youth in an effective manner.
- Fulfills all required training including documentation, applicable EBP training, cultural competency, and HIPAA.

Administrative Assistant:

- Supports program staff in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic space.
- Provides general program information to consumers and the community.
- Maintains medical records, and executes various administrative functions (e.g., data entry, running reports, etc.) for the purpose of supporting program operations.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:

- 21 years of age or older
- Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- High school diploma
- Good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient in Microsoft programs
- Strong organizational skills and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work with adolescents, families, and staff of diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, gender identity, sexual orientation, and neurodivergent presentations and backgrounds.

**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bilingual in Spanish (or another language)
- Proficient in online medical record keeping (NTST/Cerner)
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous experience in a mental health setting
- Lived experience as a consumer/family member of consumer of mental health services
