**This position will cover the following cities: Effingham, Vandalia, Shelbyville, Champaign, Urbana, Mattoon, Charleston, Paris, Marshall, and Casey.**

The Child-Parent Psychotherapist is primarily responsible for providing therapy and clinical support to program participants and clients with a wide range of issues to include mental health in accordance with federal, state, and agency requirements. This individual will also be responsible for providing assessment and screening for program clients on an as needed basis. This position utilizes the Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) evidence-based model with assigned families, while working to implement it to fidelity and demonstrate its effectiveness in improving parent-child relationships to reduce recidivism in the child welfare system.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

**ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide individual counseling sessions to clients while utilizing the Child-Parent Psychotherapy model;
- Conduct the appropriate work activity monitoring to ensure efficient operations and timely processing;
- Facilitate weekly Child-Parent Psychotherapy groups with referred families;
- Provide regular feedback to staff writing professional reports, including clinical depth and breadth of service and concrete clinical progress and goals;
- Coordinate outside professional consultations, to include communication with DCFS case workers, intact case workers, court personnel, and other partners;
- Receive, answer, and route phone calls appropriately;
- Effectively utilize appropriate information management systems in accordance with time
- bound expectations based on contract requirements, agency expectations, and program policy;
- Attend and actively participate in events, trainings, staff meetings, and similar settings, as required;
- Complete and report on position specific documentations in a timely manner and in accordance with agency standards;
- Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to Intact Families and therapeutic interventions to include CPP revisions;
- Complete other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s level degree in Social Work, Human Services, Drug and Alcohol, Education, Counseling, Psychology, or Criminal Justice from an accredited college;
- Obtain and maintain the appropriate professional licensure and registration within the program’s respective state;
- At least one (1) year of experience providing one-on-one and group therapy to individuals who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other forms of trauma;
- Bi-lingual: English and Spanish, strongly preferred;
- Possess or have an ability to possess an active professional licensure in the state of the work location, preferred;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families from diverse cultures with sensitivity to cultural differences and norms;
- Demonstrated ability with providing excellent clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
- Demonstrated competency in Child-Parent Psychotherapy;
- Capacity to engage, respect, and serve a wide range of clients with a nonjudgmental attitude, while empowering the clients served;
- Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
- Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions;
- Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with three years’ driving experience in the U.S. Must also pass a motor vehicle records check and maintain a reliable automobile with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Subscribe to and integrate the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
