**Purpose**

The Director of Engineering manages and oversees all engineering aspects of all projects; planning and support for aircraft VIP / VVIP projects including design, analysis, planning, certification, drawing interpretation and project management. This key leadership role is responsible for the Citadel Completions, LLC. Engineering department and is the primary liaison with external engineering resources as required.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Serve as a core member of the Leadership Team.
- Oversee the development and execution of engineering budgets and operating plans. Monitor metrics and take action to ensure performance to delivery, quality, and service expectation.
- Build and maintain a professional engineering organization which will support production, quality, customer, and business strategy goals.
- Monitor engineering department’s productivity and manage work schedules.
- Manage direct and indirect labor in collaboration with Program Management and Finance.
- Actively use SMEs as needed. Ensure that SMEs are engaged and contributing to program and research initiatives and are on direct charge as it best applies.
- Ensure the effective and timely oversight of technical authority and governance on all technical changes and compliance to design intent and engineering standards reporting such issues to the Chief Engineer as needed.
- Actively contribute to the development of company standards and best practice method of engineering.
- Represent engineering in strategic product development review in collaboration with Business Development and proposal activity.
- Maintain an active and positive communication / working relationship with the Leadership Team.
- Develop a positive and collaborative communication and working together relationship with GE.
- Ensure that quality policy and systems are followed and meet customer and applicable government and certifying agency standards, but also help drive continuous improvement of products and services.
- Quarterly report out to the Sr. Vice President of Operations & General Manager on staffing levels, shortages and plans to address to ensure program performance.
- Oversees the development and evaluates plans for projects and activities; assesses technical feasibility and soundness of proposed analysis, tests, or concepts being applied.
- Provides direct supervision of employees of similar expertise for a large project or a number of small projects.
- Communicates performance expectations, salary administration, and conducts performance appraisals.
- Responsible for establishing and executing objectives that support short term goals.
- Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods; represents the organization to resolve important issues and to plan and coordinate work.
- Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings concerning specific projects.
- Actively participates in daily operations as required. to meet schedules and resolve issues.
- Recommend modifications to operating policies and procedures.
- The ability to lead a group of engineering personnel and engineering suppliers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**
- This has direct supervisory responsibilities of the engineering department.

**Reporting Relationship**

Reports to the Sr. Vice President of Operations and General Manager.

**Qualifications**

***REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Aerospace Engineering discipline.
- 15+ years Management experience.
- 15+ years of experience in Aircraft Engineering, including experience in the design, certification, and modification of aircraft electrical, systems or structures.
- Program Management experience in an Aviation Environment.
- Experience leading multi-discipline engineering project teams.
- Experience and a high degree of competency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word-based process documents.
- 7+ years of experience in Aircraft Engineering, including experience in the design, certification, and modification of aircraft electrical, systems or structures.
- Experience with certification processes and requirements including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), Organizational Design Authority (ODA), and other regulatory certification and airworthiness requirements.

DESIRED
- 15+ years of experience in Aircraft Engineering, including experience in the design, certification, and modification of aircraft electrical, systems or structures.
- Project Management Certification (PMP).
- Experience in both avionics and mechanical engineering design.
- Experience with all phases of interior completions for narrow and wide body aircraft including project design, sourcing, planning, certification, and execution of modifications
