Medical Assistant/prior Authorization Specialist

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Process prior authorizations for medical procedures and tests
- Verify insurance coverage and ensure all necessary documentation is complete
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to obtain authorization approvals
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and follow-up as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely and efficient patient care
- Process Doctor to Doctor referral submission of a specific specialty.
- Assistance with clinical medical assisting when needed
**Requirements**:
- Experience in medical administrative support, preferably in internal medicine
- Knowledge of vital signs, EKGs, medications and minor clinical lab duties
- Medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, organization, multitasking and the ability to work effectively in a team setting
This position offers the opportunity to work in a busy private healthcare environment where you can utilize your skills to support patient care and streamline authorization processes.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
