**About the Role**:
Kinder, a Ferrero brand, is the undisputed global leader in confectionary with surprise toys. Kinder’s core product, Kinder Surprise, has been constantly evolving toys with surprise effects for nearly 50 years. The Ferrero Innovation Center in downtown Chicago, Illinois is actively seeking a dedicated Toys Innovation Project Specialist. This role entails providing project management and technical support within the toy innovation domain, collaborating closely with our Toys Breakthrough Innovation lead. **Main Responsibilities**:
**Innovation Project Management**:
- Directly manage various toy innovation projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to our high standards.
- Collaborate closely with the toy’s innovation lead, offering your skills and expertise to bring innovation projects from conceptualization to completion.
**Operational & Administrative Excellence**:
- Independently maintain accurate budgets, timelines, communications to drive projects.
- Champion project ownership, ensuring that initiatives are on track, continuously progressing, and adapting as needed.
**Prototyping Expertise**:
- Provide auxiliary support in the Toys Lab by deploying state-of-the-art machines and equipment for rapid prototyping: 3D printing, molding, casting, laser cutting.
- Independently troubleshoot to transform conceptual ideas into tangible prototypes for testing.
**Toys Innovation Lab Oversight**:
- Lead the seamless operation of the Toys Lab, safety, operation, and administration etc.
- Own procurement, maintenance, and other tasks associated with lab operations.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, computer science, or industrial design.
- Academic and professional experience in an innovation-focused environment, research laboratory, rapid prototyping facility, or similar setting.
- A genuine passion for working in a dynamic, experimental environment, and driving innovation.
- Problem-Solving: Expertise in identifying, defining, and tackling project challenges head-on.
- Project Management Acumen: Proficiency in driving projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
- Prototyping Mastery: Adeptness in 3D printing and other rapid prototyping techniques.
- Mechanical Design: Ability to leverage mechanical design to enhance prototyping effectiveness.
- Computer Science Fluency: Basic understanding and familiarity with tools and platforms like Github, Python, Javascript, or Unity.
