**Definition**:
**Definition**:Under general supervision from the ESS Administrator, the Child Find Program Coordinator plans, organizes and implements the Child Find Program to provide support services and referrals to Early Intervention or Special Education services to Salt River Pima-Maricopa children from birth to 5 years old, supervises program outreach and clerical support staff and develops cooperative agreements with other services not otherwise available.

**Job Duties**
- Develops and executes a comprehensive plan that includes:

- Creating and maintaining high visibility of the Child Find program within the Community
- Strategies for locating children with special needs within the Community
- Screening and early identification of children from birth to 5 with developmental concerns or established conditions that result in developmental delays
- Making referrals to the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP), Local Educational Agency (LEA) and other supports and services as necessary
- Provides parent support, parent training and direct services as needed by the child
- Coordinates activities with various State, Federal, and Community agencies such as, but not limited to; Headstart, Public Schools, Public Health, Department of Economic Security-Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) to serve children in the Child Find Program.
- Monitors home visits with Parent Educator with families to provide an on-going assessment of family needs and to ensure the appropriate provision of services.
- Initial contact for families interested in home-based visitations programs in the community. Makes referrals to which program will best suit family’s needs.
- Creates and updates procedural guidelines for Child Find Program.
- Oversees parent resource center materials/operation.
- Monitors follow-up with Parent Educator for children to complete the assessment, service process and to ensure child find files are in accordance with grant..
- Prepares and submits reports and presentations regarding program activities, statistics, policies, procedures and accomplishments.
- Maintains reporting statistics for all children with diagnosis in early childhood education programs in the community.
- Designs and administers confidential outreach program tracking and record keeping systems for children and families to support reporting and accountability requirements.
- Develops, recommends and monitors program budget.
- Supervises program staff and assists with staff development, performance management and providing leadership.
- Monitors Child Find Program procedures and policies.
- Collaborates, coordinates services with the Early Childhood Education Center Disabilities Coordinator.
- Attend off-site meetings and events as required.
- Serve as backup for parent educators during scheduled or unscheduled absences.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

**Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Other Characteristics**
- The History, culture, traditions, and customs of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community

**Knowledge of**:

- Early childhood education and experience working with children from birth to 5 with disabilities, developmental delays and medical fragile.
- Federal, Community and State agencies and their regulations (including Americans with Disabilities Act and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA part C and B section 619)as it pertains to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
- State guidelines and regulations as they pertain to referrals for children entering preschool and Kindergarten services through the LEA.

**Skilled in**:

- Oral and written communication/interpersonal skills
- Analyzing and evaluating data

**Ability to**:

- Prepare reports by analyzing and evaluating data
- Attend off-site meetings and events and conduct home visits via independent transportation where travel time is kept to a minimum
- Understand and interpret complex concepts, rules, regulations and guidelines
- Provide leadership and evaluate the work of direct reports
- Present (oral and written) materials, displays, posters, and other public relations materials
- Use a personal computer and a variety of computer programs, copier, fax machine and calculator
- Communicate with staff and members of the public
- Manage multiple priorities and establish goals
