About this Role:
The position will require the employee to plan and provide counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. The position may require providing some case management to clients as required by the program plan. Employee may be required to provide professional presentations and educational programs as needed, under the direction and regularly scheduled supervision with the Program Director.

**Responsibilities**:

- Knowledge of and experience with a variety of evidence-informed treatment approaches to clinical work with individuals, couples, families and groups. All treatment approaches utilized must be approved by the Agency.
- Firm grasp of the role of trauma in the lives of those served and an understanding of the interventions which are most effective with those who have experienced trauma.
- Ability to complete quality documentation including Medicaid Mental Health Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans and Medicaid billing notes according to Illinois Statue Rule 132 and 140, and ability to implement such interventions.
- Knowledge of, and ability to, understand and integrate the Illinois Mental Health Code, Confidentiality Act and the Illinois Child Abuse and Reporting Act.
- Firm grasp of the importance of partnership and collaborative problem-solving with those served, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to lead discussions, conceptualize well and communicate effectively; advocate for families and youth served; mobilize and educate families about formal and informal resources to support families.
- Meet all the requirements for paperwork and productivity.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Flexible in meeting the needs of those served.
- Meet with Program Director on a regular basis and demonstrates ability to make effective use of supervision. Recommends diagnoses to Licensed Program Director.
- Participate in intake service and facilitates service needs through the use of agency and community resources.
- Prepare forms necessary to satisfy Agency's needs for accountability and assist in preparation of reports, formulation and implementation of related studies.
- Participate in compliance related activities such as record audits for peers and Performance Process Quality Improvement.
- Ability to organize and maintain data and confidential information.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with all internal and external clients.
- Participate in all external meetings including court-related events to fulfill case responsibilities.
- Must pass Illinois Medicaid Comprehensive Assessment of Needs and Strengths Test.
- Adheres to standards adopted through Council on Accreditation
- Ensure safety protocols and policies are practiced at all times.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development and cultural competency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
**Education** and Experience**:

- Master's degree from an accredited University in a human service field required.
- 2-4 years of prior experience in family, couple, and individual counseling required.
- This position must meet the requirements for Licensed Provider of the Healing Arts as defined in the Illinois Mental Health Code, Rule 132.
