**Description**

The Digital Modernization Group at Leidos is currently seeking a motivated, career oriented System Engineer with proven experience to join the JSP Platform Services team in Norfolk, VA to support the DISA JSP customer.

**SHIFT SCHEDULE**: Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 PM core hours with occasional after hours’ onsite work to support both a NIPR and SIPR environment.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsible for co-designing, technical planning, and implementing complex integrated total systems configuration for virtual appliances and physical hardware builds, installs, and upgrades.
- Provided technical review and recommendations to leadership in consideration for equipment procurement evolutions
- Responsible for planning and evaluating virtual and physical system services and coordinate engineering configuration change review board (ECRB/CAB) documentation and brief board on technical details, requirements and milestones.
- Routinely perform systems requirements analysis, analyze technical functionality and system quality assurance.
- Execute virtual and physical Data Center systems integration such as ESXi Hypervisor, VDI, and other required infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, and enterprise LCM evolutions.
- Create, modify, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instruction documentation.
- Regularly STIG vCenter, OS, ESXi, virtual machines, Microsoft Server OS, and Linux OS (i.e. RHEL, Oracle Linux)
- Plan and create Microsoft Server and Linux based operating system engineering and integration
- Regularly perform maintenance and upgrades on VMware Horizon VDI environment
- Perform system image builds IAW planned projects and initiatives and prepare deployment as required
- Perform virtual system deep-dives, log analysis, and Linux command line execution in support of troubleshooting efforts and problem resolution
- Maintain and update relevant system and process documentation.
- Successfully manage time and technical responsibilities, set accurate expectations and meet deliverable deadlines while working in a team collaboration environment.
- Maintain, update, install required certificates and track certificate revocation dates to ensure continuity of services.
- Test and implement patches for ESXi, vCenter, VMware Tools, HPE Blades (iLO/BIOS/Firmware/VC/OA), and Dell Servers (iDRAC, BIOS, Firmware)
- Implement and support Dell PowerStore Storage/SAN solutions
- Understanding of system hardening, tools, guidelines and benchmarks and routinely conduct STIG compliance spot-checks on various Linux, Linux-like and Windows endpoints using SCAP and CLI

**BASIC REQUIREMENTS**
- Requires BS degree and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. Experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.
- Knowledge and experience with VMWare ESXi Hypervisor technical integration of bare metal blade servers as well as rack server technology and hardware solutions.
- Understanding of VM Kernel Operating System installation and virtual server on physical server implementation.
- Experience and knowledge with implementing virtualization of DFS nodes based on Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) in supported of file shares and folder redirections within VDI
- Understanding of power shell scripting or programming for systems management.
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) / DaaS
- Experience implementing end-user profile management solution based on FSLogix, VMware Clustered VMDKs, Clustered Shared Volumes, and Scale-Out File Server (SOFS)
- Strong understanding of enterprise, network, systems, operations and support.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Experience with creating and maintaining network and computer datacenter diagrams, rack elevations, and drawings
- 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III: Security+ CE, and System OS Cert (e.g. Linux Windows server)
- Active DoD Secret clearance

**Pay Range**: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
