Primary Objective

Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Deli/Bakery member, the Deli/Bakery Clerk promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of Deli/Bakery products. The Deli/Bakery clerk adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Deli/Bakery Clerk is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling and promoting sales events.

- Assists with product preparation, packaging, presentation, rotation, replenishment
- Ensures in-stock position of available product
- Maintains high cleanliness standards - clean as you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping
- Working knowledge of all Deli/Bakery equipment
- Demonstrates high level of operational execution
- Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency
- Working knowledge of Deli/Bakery legal, safety, and sanitation SOP’s
- Consistent execution of all Deli/Bakery SOP’s

3. Performance Focus - Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.
- Accomplished SELLING skills results in additional Sales
- Suggestive SELLS and Samples short-coded product
- Communicates code dating issues
- Communicates Shrink opportunities
- Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink
- Utilizes appropriate supplies to reduce costs

4. Planning Focus
- Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift
- Plans work duties appropriately during scheduled shift to accomplish all assigned tasks
- Identifies department opportunities during scheduled shift and responds accordingly
