Description:
**Position**: Mold/Changeover Technician

**Department**: Maintenance

**Shift**: Monday-Friday, Dayshift, (shift can vary due to needs)

**Main Responsibility**

Optimize all mold requirements to meet needs of manufacturing operations.
- Injection Molds
- Thermoforming Molds
- Decoration Toolsets

**Core Competency**:

- Maintain high efficiency of all mold repair/cleaning and refurbishing activities, in line with Continuous Improvement Program and OEM recommendations
- Planning and implementation of preventative maintenance on production molds
- Evaluation and diagnosis of mold repair requirements
- Troubleshooting of issues with tooling.
- Management and implementation of emergency repairs
- Clean and prepare molds for product changes in line with schedule requirements
- Complete Tooling changeovers on equipment as needed including starting and running equipment.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
- Individual must be detail oriented
- Occasional part manufacture and mold repair using CNC machines, mill, lathe, grinder, etc.
- Update and maintain inventory and repair records using a PC/spreadsheet

**Requirements**:
**Technical Expertise & Experience**

**Essential Criteria**
- HS Diploma
- Experience and ability to measure, verify dimensions using depth gauges, vernier, micrometer, identify O-rings and snap rings, use basic math, etc.
- Practical/working knowledge and experience of mold maintenance, including milling and lathe turning skills.
- Working knowledge of Preventative Mold Maintenance and able to use a computer for documenting tooling on and offsite, parts research, etc.
- Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics and ability to identify mechanical issues.
- **Desirable Criteria**
- 2 Year Technical or Engineering Degree
- Working knowledge of auxiliary systems such as compressed air and cooling water circuits.

**Other**
- 8 hour shift pattern
- Work in/around high speed equipment daily in a production and shop environment.
- Standing, lifting, bending, reaching on a consistent basis
- Responsible for Food Safety within scope of work, including adherence to site Hygiene Code of Practice and SQF/FDA regulatory requirements, and reporting of food safety concerns/improvement suggestions.
- Requires hand washing multiple times throughout a shift, including exposure to cleaning agents that may be harsh to the skin. (PPE Provided)
