**Responsibilities and job description of a CNA instructor include**:

- Preparing lessons
- Teach the applicants and offer practical and theoretical knowledge to the students so that they can pass the state certification exam
- Managing and observing the students’ academic progress
- Maintaining the grade and attendance records of the students
- Coordinating with the teaching faculty of the institute in order to organize or implement the nursing instruction program

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility. Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.

**Safety and Sanitation**
- Provide personal protective equipment to staff when performing procedures that involve exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Maintain a work environment that is clean and presents a professional image.

**Personnel Functions**
- Participates in staff reviews by observing performance and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing/Executive Director for action and monitoring.
- Develop clinical training assignments and ensure completion and performance of such assignments.

**Education and Licenses**

Must possess a current and active license to practice as an LPN/RN in this state.

- Varies will be discussed in interview.
