**Buyer**

We are looking for a Buyer to join our Target Rock team

As **our **Buyer you will be responsible for soliciting quotations from a base of qualified vendors, placing purchase orders, follow-up and expediting placed purchase orders to meet established schedules. You will also be expected to solicit support as necessary from other departments to resolve questions or problems.

**Location: East Farmingdale, NY**

**Salary/hourly rate: $24.38 to $30.00**

**Your Challenge**
- Principal responsibility is for the buyer to know the value of what is being purchased and ensure that the purchase meets required schedules within the budgeted guidelines.
- Works independently with minimum supervision.
- Individual will be negotiating the purchase order terms with regard to quality and cost savings.
- Able to interact with various vendors and other departments.
- Must be diligent with vendor follow-up and expedited promised deliveries.
- Must be organized, detailed oriented and possess time management skills.
- Responsible for periodic visits to vendors.
- Computer knowledge with the Windows, Oracle preferred.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
- Resolve CW Pay issues.
- Participate in KTL meetings and update actions as applicable.

**What You Bring**
- High School degree but a College degree preferred in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience as a junior buyer.
- Prior experience in machine shop environment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience with ORACLE ERP desirable.
- Familiarity with MRP a plus.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Must be able to work independently and make own decisions.
