**Position Overview**:
At The Yard After Dark, the Security Personnel role is critical to our operation. This position is essential to ensure the safety and security of our employees and guests. Our security team is highly trained to manage various situations, ensuring everyone can enjoy a safe and fun environment. An emphasis on de-escalation tactics is vital, as maintaining peace and resolving conflicts without escalating altercations is a priority.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
- **Safety and Security Maintenance**: Ensure the security and safety of the building, guests, employees, and their property through constant vigilance in and around the premises.
- **Security Assignments**: Take on security-related tasks as needed.
- **Routine Inspections**: Conduct regular inspections of the building and its surroundings.
- **Emergency Response**: Act swiftly in situations that require immediate attention.
- **Incident Management**: Assist management in addressing incidents, and providing detailed documentation of events.
- **Compliance with Safety Standards**: Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety regulations enforced by management.
- **Professional Conduct**: Maintain a professional, polished demeanor that instills confidence and trust.
- **Calm Under Pressure**: Stay composed and act professionally in emotionally charged or stressful situations.
- **Guest Service**: Offer exceptional service in every interaction with guests throughout the evening.
- **Risk Management**: Effectively manage risks and adapt to changes with contingency planning.
- **Objective Decision Making**: Handle conflicting perspectives impartially, recognizing personal biases and preventing them from influencing decisions.
- **Age Verification**: Check IDs to ensure all patrons meet the age requirements for entry.
- **Security Screening**: Conduct searches and frisks on patrons for prohibited items before entrance.
- **Entrance Monitoring**: Oversee the front door, monitoring guests' entry and exit.
- **De-escalation Expertise**: Use de-escalation tactics to peacefully resolve conflicts without engaging in physical altercations.
**Desired Qualifications & Skills**:
- **De-escalation Expertise**: Proficient in de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts peacefully.
- **Law Enforcement Background**: Experience in law enforcement is preferred, but not required.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Capable of sitting and standing for extended periods.
