Position Details

The Registrar's Office at The University has an opening for an Assistant Registrar. This position supports federal compliance and on-going retention efforts by advising students about academic policy, grading and readmission during their institutional withdrawal or leave of absence while determining which effective date to report to the National Student Clearinghouse.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Support federal compliance by timely reporting student status changes while accurately processing university withdrawals and leave of absences.

2. Prepare student record subpoena responses and coordinate documents.

3. Perform registration troubleshooting in a manner that supports student retention.

5. Prepare Apostille documents and perform notary services.

6. Supervise Staff Assistant and student workers.

7. Prepare international student enrollment certifications and embassy forms to assist students with retaining visa status.

8. Verify legal documents for accurate processing of student name changes.

9. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Records and Registration.

10. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

**Qualifications**:
1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred.

2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an academic records or financial aid office at an accredited institution.

3. Must have a strong understanding of the section of the Federal Student Aid Handbook that pertains to Withdrawals and the Return of Title IV Funds.

4. Understanding of National Student Clearinghouse enrollment reporting services as it relates to Title IV compliance.

5. Understanding of FERPA specific to subpoena handling.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to filter and sort accurately.

7. Excellent oral, interpersonal and organizational skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.

8. Ability to perform the duties of a notary given UT-provided resources to obtain notary certification.

9. Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.

10. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
