Financial Aid Coordinator

**Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
2. Provides financial aid and scholarship information to prospective and currently enrolled students and their families.
3. Provides information on and refers students to University resources that can assist them in meeting their needs or solving their problems.
4. Counsel prospective and current students and their families on all aspects of the aid process.
6. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in all aspects of financial aid including changes to federal and state regulations
7. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
8. Handles sensitive and confidential financial aid files.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

**Requisite Qualifications**
- Typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
- Minimum two years of experience performing a variety of administrative/secretarial duties to support a department, school/college, program or unit. General knowledge of standard office procedures.
- Knowledge of the Federal Title IV programs, the State of California Grants, and Scholarships.
- Ability to assess, navigate, and research student records on Banner and Etrieve and other federally related websites and portals; Ability to advise on financial aid policies and procedures. Ability to collect and analyze data.
- Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information;
