Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant

Looking for FULL TIME MA to work Monday thru Thursdays 8am to 5pm and Fridays 8am to 2pm. MA is Responsible for providing care for patients following established standards and practices. Communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. Maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow. The clinical staff shares in the responsibilities to assist in the following:

- Answering patient phone calls
- Preparing procedure paperwork, medical supply ordering
- Assisting in the management of Cardiac clearances, holter monitors, TCMs, Medication prior authorizations, INRs, Prescription refills, orders, pacers, sleep studies, cardiac rehab, medilynx, home health PT letters
- Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms
- Collects patient information and assessment data. Obtains and records patients’ vital signs. Performs chart review to obtain historical data.
- Ensures that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner; forwards charts as appropriate.
- Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
- Performs delegated procedures
- Follows policies for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materials.
- Recognizes emergency situations and implements emergency procedures according to clinic guidelines.
- Provides appropriate patient specific education, and health information materials.
- Makes, receives and handles medically related phone calls as directed by providers
- Assists receptionist in scheduling appointments as needed. Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
- Orders, stocks and maintains exam room supplies.
- Notifies patients of test result, schedules follow up appointments as needed.
- Assists in the scheduling of tests as recommended by the provider
- Supply patient with written instructions for preparation needed for any and all special procedures
- Utilize ATHENA health
- Other duties as assigned

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 - 40 per week
