**SALARY RANGE**:$46,000 - $51,000

**REPORTS TO**:Head Athletic Trainer
**PRIMARY PURPOSE /**:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer position is a full-time position in the Department of Athletics. The position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is sensitive to the needs of a diverse student body and is committed to assisting the Department of Athletics in enhancing and supporting the student development experience consistent with the mission of a Sinsinawa Dominican Catholic liberal arts university.

**JOB COMPONENTS / PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for but not limited to**:
- Providing the care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all student-athletes and providing necessary documentation for athletic injuries including following the Department of Athletics concussion management plan;
- Adhering to conference, NCAA, Title IX, Department of Athletics and University rules and regulations and remaining up-to-date on conference guidelines;
- Assisting in the development, review and implementation of the Department of Athletics Emergency Actions plans for each of our facilities including assisting in the scheduling of coverage for practices, home contests and selected away contests;
- Assisting in overseeing, creating and tracking all student-athlete medical forms and insurance including secondary insurance documentation and claims process and drug testing; Maintaining consistent communication with the appropriate medical personnel for the purpose of evaluating and treating injured student-athletes;
- Assisting in coordinating the purchase of the Department of Athletics equipment and supplies for athletic training purposes;
- Assisting in the education of coaches and student-athletes regarding the philosophy of athletic training services;
- Managing the Athletic Training Microsoft Bookings account;
- Accepting and fulfilling other duties as assigned.
**MINIMUM/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- NATA & Board of Certification requirements, Illinois State Licensure
- Proficiency with NCAA Division III rules and regulations
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
**PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS**
- Master’s degree in related field preferred
- Strong leadership and collaborative abilities
- Ability to multi-task effectively and strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Competence with computer skills
- Ability to thrive in a diverse and growing environment
