**Shipping & Receiving Coordinator**

The position is responsible for the coordination of the shipping and receiving department**.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinates and oversees the workflow through department to ensure parts are packed to customer specifications and shipped out on-time.
- Prepares shipping documentation, maintains records and coordinates logistics for product shipment.
- Pack, seal, label and weigh packages to prepare for shipping.
- Works with Shop Foreman to resolve any issues delaying parts to be shipped out.
- Prints shippers and tracks finished goods in MRP system.
- Receives incoming goods and verifies against purchase order; records in receiving logbooks.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reports any damage goods to Purchasing, records shortages and delivers to recipients.
- Evaluates department processes; recommends improvements when needed.
- Informs Shop Foreman of equipment, tooling, or other resource needs to meet customer shipping specifications and schedules.
- Provides guidance to others within the Shipping/Receiving area.
- Required to assist in training employees on machine operation, processes, techniques, safety, chemicals, etc. before they are assigned work in the department.
- Manages department inventories, materials and supplies; orders needed supplies and materials for department by filling out Purchase Requisition form and submitting to Purchasing Department.
- Maintains accurate product inventory.
- Uses forklift to load and unload freight from trucks.
- Provides other support to production and management, as requested.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
- Computer experience such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook preferred.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Understanding of basic Mathematics: including fractions, percents, measurements and weight.
- Capable of using rules and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road including the relative costs and benefits, preferred.
- Ability to use forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to operate cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
