**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Implement and maintain effective safety programs and procedures to promote a safe working environment for all employees.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the pulp mill team, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of pulp production, including wood processing, cooking, and bleaching, to ensure optimal efficiency and quality.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize production output, minimize downtime, and reduce operating costs while meeting quality standards and production targets.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that pulp produced meets customer specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop preventive maintenance programs and optimize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Develop and manage the pulp mill operating budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements, and lead initiatives to implement best practices and innovative technologies.
- Recruit, train, and mentor employees, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the pulp mill team.

**Required Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pulp mill operations.
- In-depth knowledge of Kraft pulping processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve performance goals.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of driving process improvements and cost reductions.
- Proficiency in safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality management systems.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
