- Lead coverage of breaking/developing news stories both editorially and logístically for both the newsroom and field crews
- Research, coordinate, pitch & implement coverage of breaking news, continuing coverage and human-interest stories
- Ability to quickly assess what is needed on coverage of a breaking stories
- Ability to find & book experts and community members who help define a story
- Collaborate with the website, social media, and streaming teams
- Initiate & maintain communication with affiliates & News Channel counterparts
- Consistently monitor and break news through social media platforms and tools
- Establish & maintain working story & contact files

**Qualifications** Qualifications/ Requirements**
- Working Knowledge of Police Scanners
- Working knowledge of live production/transmission
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and status updates to both editorial and technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications.
- At least 4 years’ experience including: work in a broadcast news environment, coordinating assignments, generating story ideas.
- Two years’ experience as an Assignment Editor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Bilingual - Spanish/English

**Eligibility Requirements**
- Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift including the potential for weekends, holidays and overnights
- Must be over 18 years old
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
