**ABOUT THIS POSITION**:
Approximately 48 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2023, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact of $38 billion annually.

The Aviation Department has a vacancy for a Supervisor I position. This role will provide first-line supervision of Airport Operations Technicians responsible for Deer Valley Airport's daily operational and maintenance needs. This position oversees operations personnel whose responsibilities include but are not limited to customer service, basic and skilled maintenance requests, aircraft emergency response, event coordination, security, safety inspections, construction planning and coordination, and record keeping.

The essential or major duties of this position are:

- Respond to customer service inquiries.
- Order and maintain new equipment and supplies.
- Train and provide vocational development of subordinates.
- Ensure that employees work safely in a busy airport environment.
- Acquire supplies and materials following City of Phoenix / Aviation Division policies.
- Review and update operational procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Use SAP / xPort software, computer correspondence/data input or retrieval.
- Work in the field with operations employees to complete maintenance and upkeep work.
- Coordinate and observe construction activities including in active areas of the airfield.
- Train employees in the enforcement of State statutes, City ordinances, FAA regulations, and departmental rules and procedures.
- Perform administrative duties such as writing performance evaluations, shift reports, shift scheduling, and evaluating performance.
- Investigate/resolve employee issues and recommend appropriate disciplinary or corrective action, employee labor card and timecard compliance.
- Train employees in the enforcement of State statutes, City ordinances, FAA regulations, and departmental rules and procedures.

**Schedule**: Wednesday; 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM and Thursday - Saturday; 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM

**IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Knowledge of aircraft emergency response.
- Knowledgeable of airport regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of maintenance and security needs for general aviation airports.

**SALARY**:
Pay Range: $21.54 to $38.68 per hour.

Hiring Range: $21.54 to $28.86 per hour.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Three years of progressively responsible experience in airport maintenance, operations, or technically specific areas.
- Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
