As we are a start-up, you will need to be an excellent communicator and problem-solver with a can-do solutions-oriented attitude. Your job responsibilities will be largely autonomous and thus you will need to be a self-starter who loves to create and scale systems and processes.
Roots to Rise has just the one location in Waltham now but we do plan to open a second location prior to the end of this year. Our menu is very healthy. We offer breakfast items, smoothies, acai bowls, salads, sandwiches, paninis and more.
**The Head of Food Production & Operations**:
- All leaders first and most important obligation is to **serve** More specifically, serving our team, guests, and the community around us. Roots to Rise is in the hospitality industry, which is a people-based industry, and we will work to serve these needs first and foremost.
- Manages and directs daily food operations including and not limited to: procurement operations, product deliveries, invoices, inventory, food production, packaging, labeling & food disbursement
- Supervises team by delegating, assigning, and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards
- Assist in creating training routines and developing leaders within the organization.
- Ensures Team have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety to comply with all regulatory and firm standards
- Ability to understand and maintain COGS and create food costs for each menu item
- Understand and maintain nutritional information for menu items
**Job Qualifications**:
- Positive, energetic, humble, upbeat, and fun personalities only (negative folks do not bother applying)
- 3+ years’ experience as a General Manager in a cafe with menu items similar to ours.
- Lead and developed 20+ team members per shift
- Experience in ensuring safe food handling at a large scale
- ServSafe and Allergen Awareness certification
- A valid driver’s license
- Must have full availability for scheduling Mon-Friday between 7am-5pm
