**Overview**:
As a Shift Lead - Customer Connection Specialist at our fast-paced coffee shop, your primary focus will be on fostering kindness and building genuine connections with our customers. You will lead by example, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, you'll prioritize creating a warm and welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Customer Engagement and Connection:

- Greet every customer with a warm and genuine welcome, striving to make each interaction memorable.
- Take the time to engage with customers, learn their names, and develop rapport through personalized interactions.
- Listen attentively to customer needs and preferences, offering recommendations and making genuine connections.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel comfortable spending time and connecting with others.
- Lead the team in embodying kindness and empathy in all customer interactions.

2. Team Leadership:

- Lead by example, demonstrating kindness, empathy, and a positive attitude in all interactions.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment where team members feel valued and respected.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, encouraging them to prioritize customer connection.
- Delegate tasks effectively, balancing operational needs with the importance of customer engagement.
- Celebrate team successes and recognize individual contributions to fostering a culture of kindness and customer connection.

3. Operational Excellence:

- Ensure smooth operations during shifts, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards for food and beverage preparation, ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns with empathy and professionalism, striving to resolve issues to the customer's satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement strategies for enhancing customer experience and fostering connection.

4. Training and Development:

- Assist in training new hires on customer service standards, emphasizing kindness, empathy, and genuine connection.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to enhance their customer service skills.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on building empathy, communication, and connection with customers.
- Encourage and support team members in developing their own unique approaches to building customer relationships.

5. Community Engagement:

- Participate in community events and initiatives to connect with customers outside of the coffee shop environment.
- Seek opportunities to give back to the community and support local causes that align with our values.
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing our coffee shop positively within the community and fostering goodwill.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role, with a strong emphasis on building genuine connections with customers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- Leadership experience preferred, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Passion for creating memorable experiences and making a positive impact on customers' lives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging situations with grace and kindness.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality or customer service is a plus.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.27 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
