**Position Summary**:
The purpose of the Infection Preventionist is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection prevention and control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such programs, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to ensure that an effective infection prevention and control program is maintained at all times.

**Essential Functions**:

- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct our infection prevention and control program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in nursing care facilities.
- Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection prevention and control.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection prevention and control processes and techniques in accordance with current best practices
- Review, modify and interpret infection prevention and control policies and procedures as necessary.
- Monitor infection prevention and control practices and procedures to ensure that all personnel are implementing our standard operating procedures for tasks involving exposure to blood/body fluids.
- Make rounds to nursing units for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures, and supervision of standard and transmission-based precautions/practices.
- Maintain a written record of all residents and employees with community
- or healthcare associated infections.
- Serve on, participate in, and attend Infection Prevention and Control Committee meetings.
- Represent the Infection Prevention and Control Committee at the facility QAPI Committee
- Provide employee orientation, training, and counseling as outlined in our infection prevention and control and employee health programs.
- Maintain resident/employee exposure reports in a confidential manner.

**Education / Experience**:

- Registered Nurse with active license in good standing with the State required.
- Graduate of a state approved school of nursing combined with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Long-term care Infection Control experience, Assistant Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing experience.
- Completed or in process of completing a CMS approved Infection control training.
- Superior knowledge of quality assurance, quality improvement and clinical components in Post-Acute Care and Skilled Nursing Practice.
- Strong computer skills required including a functional competency with Point Click Care.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written), organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a results-oriented manner.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
