3:45pm-11p Week days, every other weekend, and rotating holidays

9pm-6a week days, every other weekend, and rotating holidays

2pm-9pm Week days, every other weekend, and rotating holidays

10:45pm-8am week days, every other weekend, and rotating holidays

Authorized Direct Support Professional (ADSP) is responsible for teaching, assisting and supervising the individuals’ receiving services from ABRA in activities of daily living and in the development of independent living, economic self-sufficiency, and community integration skills. The ADSP’s are directly responsible to the CILA Managers. The position may be full-time, part-time, or sub status and may require working a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends and holidays.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Be at least eighteen years old, have proof of a high school diploma or G.E.D., and demonstrate an eighth grade level of literacy on the TABE exam.
- Be able to speak and understand the English language.
- Have a valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Be in good physical and mental health with no permanent limitations for lifting.

- Upon the acceptance of the offer of employment, the employee must complete within the initial employment period a physical exam with the physician of your choice and TB testing. Prior physicals exams and TB tests conducted within a year of the hire date will be considered valid.

**Training Requirements**:

- Must be able to successfully complete an approved ADSP training program within 120 days of hire as a ADSP or show proof of completion from prior employment.
- Must have their ADSP training record added to the Health Care worker registry within 30 days of completing an approved ADSP training program and have the designation “DD Aide” on the Health Care Worker Registry.
- Must have or be able to successfully earn certification in First Aid and CPR through either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Must successfully complete a medication administration training program specified by DHS and taught by a Nurse Trainer

**Duties and Responsibilities of the ADSP shall include but are not limited to**:

- Follow posted work schedule as assigned
- Follow all policies and procedures of ABRA
- Supervise and assist as assigned on Task Sheet with all personal care and housekeeping procedures for the individuals
- Advocate for the individual’s rights and assist them in exercising their rights
- Assist individuals with integrating into the community including recreational, vocational, personal, and family activities
- Transport the individuals as assigned and complete mileage logs and reimbursement forms
- Participate as a part of the Community Support Team to identify the individual’s needs and make recommendations for ISP
- Orient new staff as assigned and implement on the job training
- Complete proper documentation on each shift you are scheduled to work
- Obtain or provide assistance in an emergency or crisis situation

Full time and part time employees are required to attend regularly scheduled in service trainings and house meetings and complete any competencies that go along with the training in order to meet the DHS annual training requirements. This includes the annual reevaluation by the RNurse-Trainer, maintaining CPR and first aid certification, and any other training as specified by the agency or DHS

Sub status employees are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled in-service trainings and house meetings and complete any competencies that go along with the training. If a substitute is unable to attend these trainings or house meetings, a substitute may read the notes and complete any competencies that go along with the training in order to meet the DHS annual training requirements. Substitutes must also be annually reevaluated by the RNurse
- Trainer, maintain CPR and first aid certification, and any other training as specified by the agency or DHS.
