**BASIC FUNCTION**:
Welds and assembles parts to form complete units or sub-assemblies.

**MAJOR DUTIES**:

- Operate multiple metal working machines and use hand tools daily to assemble parts and components.
- Wire electrical controls and/or run piping for the specified product line.
- Produce quality weldments and/or welding assemblies in one or more areas.
- Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
- Set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

General knowledge of assembly techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is preferred. Ability to read precision measuring tools is required. General knowledge of welding techniques, tools and equipment. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or on-the-job training.
