We're looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst with a Manufacturing and Fabrication background to join the team. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with operations and leadership to understand what's happening across the business, help plan for what's ahead, and turn financial data into insights that support better decisions.
You'll take the lead on budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial analysis, reporting, and financial modeling, while also working directly with operational teams to identify opportunities, manage costs, and improve overall business performance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as the go-to FP&A partner for the business lines associated with Marine and Construction, working closely with operations and leadership.
- Lead the financial analysis behind the monthly close, including comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
- Own and coordinate annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and longer-term financial plans.
- Build financial models and what-if scenarios to help leadership evaluate business decisions and plan for different outcomes.
- Dig into revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, and profitability to understand what's driving performance.
- Work with operations to identify financial risks, opportunities, and ways to improve costs and profitability.
- Put together monthly business reviews, KPI reporting, and presentations for leadership.
- Support pricing decisions, capital expenditures, and other investments by building financial models and business cases.
- Look for ways to make financial reporting and planning easier, more efficient, and more useful for the business.
- Help ensure revenue is recognized accurately and financial activities follow company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audits and help maintain SOX compliance.
- Work closely with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and Corporate Finance to make sure everyone is working from accurate and consistent financial information.
- Jump into special projects, strategic initiatives, and other financial analysis as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dig into the numbers and understand the story behind them.
- Comfortable communicating financial information to people who don't live in the finance world - especially operational and business leaders.
- Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with Oracle EPM or another EPM planning/forecasting system is a plus.
- Experience with Oracle, Oracle Cloud, or another major ERP system is a plus.
- CMA, MBA, or CPA is a plus.
Why This Role Is Interesting
This isn't a role where you'll simply pull reports and hand them off to the business. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with operations and leadership, understand what's driving the numbers, and help shape the decisions behind them.
If you enjoy combining financial analysis with real-world business operations and want to have a visible impact on how a business performs, this could be a great fit.
