3. Java/J2EE development experience with Jakarata ee and ORM frameworks
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, enhance, troubleshoot, and support Compass21 application components across Texas Medicaid systems using CA Gen / AllFusion Gen / Cool:Gen, SQL, and related legacy technologies.
- Analyze CA Gen models, action blocks, screen flows, batch jobs, interfaces, data dependencies, and integration points to understand current-state functionality and modernization impact.
- Convert legacy business rules and application behavior into maintainable Java-based services, APIs, reusable components, and technical designs.
- Support CA Gen-to-Java modernization activities, including current-state assessment, legacy-to-target mapping, conversion review, regression validation, and implementation support.
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, resolve defects, and support release/deployment activities across legacy and modernized application components.
- Assist with Java application deployment and runtime troubleshooting on application servers such as WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, or similar platforms.
- Partner with business, client, architecture, testing, DevOps, and operations teams to clarify requirements, triage defects, manage dependencies, and confirm implementation readiness.
- Prepare technical documentation, modernization impact notes, interface mappings, implementation plans, and knowledge-transfer materials for delivery and client teams
- As a Compass21 Application Developer, you will be responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of application components across multiple Texas Medicaid systems using CA Gen / AllFusion Gen / Cool:Gen and related technologies. You will support existing application functionality while contributing to modernization efforts that transition legacy components toward Java-based, cloud-ready, and integration-friendly solutions.
