The Radiologic Technologist - Interventional works in a cardiac catheterization lab assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The role requires strong technical expertise and patient care skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
Scrub and circulate during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and vascular procedures
Operate fluoroscopy and imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for procedures
Monitor patient status and maintain safety throughout procedures
Ensure proper radiation safety protocols for staff and patients
Accurately document procedures, imaging data, and patient information
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and cath lab staff to maintain efficient workflow
Participate in equipment quality assurance and maintenance protocols
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
Active ARRT certification required
Current California Radiologic Technologist license required
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience
At least 1 year of scrubbing experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional setting
Preferred Skills:
ACLScertification
Experience working in high-volume cardiac catheterization laboratories
Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and interventional procedures
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced procedural environments
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to patient safety and radiation protection practices
