I'm currently partnered with a leading national public accounting firm is looking to add a Corporate Tax Manager to its growing Chicago practice. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong corporate tax background who wants exposure to larger, more sophisticated clients while continuing to progress toward Senior Manager and ultimately Partner.
The firm is investing significantly in its growth over the next several years, creating strong long-term advancement opportunities for experienced tax professionals.
Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax compliance engagements for large and complex clients
- Review C-Corporation / Form 1120 returns and related workpapers
- Assist with and review ASC 740 income tax provisions
- Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
- Review work prepared by associates and seniors
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Work closely with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners on complex tax matters
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Current Manager or experienced Senior ready for the next step
- Strong C-Corporation / 1120 experience
- Experience with ASC 740 / tax provisions
- Exposure to larger or more sophisticated corporate clients
- Previous Top 25, national or large regional public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- $110K–$150K base salary
- Annual performance bonus
- Employee stock ownership benefit after the first year of service
- Hybrid schedule
- Busy season generally targeted around 55–60 hours/week
- Paid year-end firm shutdown
- Strong advancement opportunities toward Senior Manager and Partner
