Vineyard Foreman
The Vineyard Foreman works closely with the Vineyard Supervisor to coordinate daily vineyard operations and support the production of high-quality grapes. This hands-on leadership role oversees vineyard employees, equipment, and resources while promoting safe work practices, accurate recordkeeping, and efficient completion of assigned tasks.
Key responsibilities
include overseeing daily vineyard activities, leading and training vineyard employees, supporting proper care of vines and crops, assisting with timecard preparation and review, preparing work areas for daily operations, helping implement frost-protection measures, assisting the Vineyard Supervisor with daily harvest schedules, inspecting vines and crops for signs of pests or disease, completing and maintaining accurate daily records, reinforcing company safety procedures, monitoring tools and machinery, and working with the Vineyard Supervisor to plan, carry out, and monitor vineyard activities. Typical work schedule is approximately 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work during peak periods. Work locations are various vineyards, ranches, and agricultural properties throughout Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Qualifications and requirements include three to five years of experience in a vineyard or related agricultural field, strong knowledge of vineyard practices, strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, proficiency in both spoken English and Spanish, ability to complete clear, accurate written records, ability to track work schedules and hours accurately, ability to consistently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, meeting company pre-employment screening requirements, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, following company policies, safety rules, and supervisory instructions, maintaining clean work areas, using designated eating areas and assigned worksites, and holding a valid driver's license. Pay: $49,920.00
