Jr. Full Stack Engineer

Hybrid – Owings Mills, MD (2 days/week onsite) Work Hours: 40 hours/week, 9 AM–5 PM EST Start Date Is: ASAP (approximately 3–4 weeks from offer) Duration: 6-Month Contract Compensation Range: $40/hr

S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Join an established Agile development team supporting a self-service advisor dashboard and the backend workflow applications that power it. Develop new features and functionality for existing applications, with approximately 80% of the work focused on backend development and 20% on frontend development. Build and enhance Java/Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and microservices. Contribute to frontend functionality using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Troubleshoot bugs, investigate technical issues, and implement effective solutions. Work with SQL databases to query and analyze data and support basic scripts or data migrations. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, user story estimation, retrospectives, and technical refinement. Translate requirements and user stories into working functionality, taking ownership of assigned work from development through testing. Collaborate with senior engineers, QA/SDET, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Scrum team members.

Requirements:
3+ years of professional software development experience. 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience, ideally with Java 8+. Experience developing applications with Spring and/or Spring Boot. Experience developing REST APIs and microservices. 1+ year of experience with Angular and working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Working knowledge of SQL, including querying and analyzing data. Experience working in an Agile development environment using Jira and/or Rally. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to take requirements or user stories and independently translate them into working solutions. Proactive communicator who takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and asks thoughtful questions when needed. Comfortable joining an existing codebase and contributing with limited hand-holding. Preferred

Qualifications:
1–3 years of AWS experience or familiarity with AWS services, particularly Lambda. Experience with Snowflake. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Financial services industry experience. Additional database or DBA experience.
