Java Engineer with Test Automation - Onsite, New York City, NY

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java development
• Experience creating end-to-end automation using Playwright (Java) (UI and/or API testing)
• Experience with AWS (preferred)
• Experience integrating automated tests into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Experience using Xray (Jira Test Management) for test planning, execution, and reporting
• Strong understanding of SDLC, test methodologies, and quality engineering practices
• Ability to work independently and drive work from analysis through implementation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing trading platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), or related financial systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with API testing and integration testing

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated functional test frameworks and suites using Playwright + Java
• Build and execute end-to-end automated test scenarios for web applications
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Manage test execution, defect tracking, and reporting through Xray/Jira
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business partners to clarify requirements and resolve issues
• Participate in architecture/design discussions and contribute to technical solutions
• Support testing phases including system, integration, and UAT
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to process/automation improvements
• Participate in production/application support and on-call rotation as needed
