User Interface Designer

Atlanta, GA, United States CxAlloy Full-time

We are looking for an experienced UI Designer who is passionate about crafting polished, intuitive, and highly usable digital interfaces. This role is focused on visual design excellence, interaction design, and scalable interface systems rather than formal UX research or product strategy.

We're looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail who can simplify complex workflows through thoughtful interface design. Must have a strong understanding of layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, interaction states, accessibility, and design systems, and know how these elements work together to create clear, consistent experiences.

We value designers who can confidently explain their thinking, evaluate tradeoffs, and recommend a direction, not just present options. Experience in graphic design, brand design, marketing design, or another creative discipline is a plus, as we believe diverse design backgrounds often lead to stronger visual thinking.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design polished, modern user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
  • Translate product requirements into clear, effective interface solutions.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and scalable design system components.
  • Refine designs based on feedback, technical constraints, and evolving requirements.
  • Maintain visual consistency through thoughtful use of design systems and interface patterns.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our design language and component library.
  • Present your work clearly, communicating design decisions, tradeoffs, and recommendations.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong visual design skills, including typography, color, layout, spacing, and interaction design.
  • Experience designing and contributing to design systems.
  • Proficiency with modern UI design tools (Sketch, Figma, or similar).
  • Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and modern web application patterns.
  • Ability to organize complex information into interfaces that feel clear, consistent, and easy to navigate.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance business goals, technical constraints, and usability when making design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently explain design rationale and tradeoffs.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuously improving your craft.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong visual execution and thoughtful decision-making.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in design related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional design experience, including at least 4 years designing digital products for web or mobile platforms.
  • Experience designing SaaS, enterprise, or productivity products.
  • Experience designing data-rich interfaces and workflows.
  • Experience building or evolving enterprise design systems.
  • Front-end implementation knowledge (HTML/CSS/React) is a plus but not required.

Your portfolio is the most important part of your application. We're less interested in seeing polished final screens than in understanding how you approach design problems, weigh tradeoffs, make decisions, and communicate your recommendations.

Please include case studies that demonstrate

  • The problem or workflow you were designing.
  • Why you chose one direction over another.
  • Key tradeoffs and design decisions.
  • How feedback or constraints influenced the outcome.
  • Decisions you made independently.
  • Examples of improving clarity, consistency, or efficiency through design.

If your background includes another design discipline, we'd love to see how that experience influences your approach to digital products. Portfolios that only showcase final UI screens without context or rationale are unlikely to be considered.
