Technical Architect

Must have technical/functional skills Core technology stack

• Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP): architecting shared business logic layers
• Server-Driven UI (SDUI): designing extensible layout engines to dynamicize screen rendering
• Native platforms: Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose) and iOS (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI)
• GraphQL (Netflix DGS) and GraphQL Federation layers; GraphQL BFF patterns
• Backend: Spring Boot 3.5, Java 21, REST APIs, and microservices integrated with core services such as SearchNav, ProductGateway and TypeAhead
• Distributed systems: microservices, server-side GraphQL patterns, high-performance multi-layered JVM in-memory caching

Quality, delivery & security

• Automated unit/integration testing: JUnit 5, XCTest, MockK, Espresso, XCUITest
• Visual regression testing: Paparazzi and Shot
• Mobile delivery pipelines: Bitrise, Fastlane, TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution
• Automated security testing: Static (SAST) and Dynamic (DAST) Application Security Testing
• Performance instrumentation: New Relic, GCP Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, distributed tracing across hybrid mobile-to-backend journeys

Authoring & personalization

• Contentful (CMS), Adobe Target, and centralized remote configuration

AI expertise

• Practical, hands-on experience with GenAI APIs, LLM prompt engineering, and code-generation tools/agents to accelerate development

Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years leading architecture as a Principal / Senior Principal for a major consumer-facing mobile application
• Proven track record of executing a major technology renovation / modernization strategy (preferably including SDUI, KMP and GraphQL BFF elements)

Roles & responsibilities

Delivery and execution

• Lead portfolio-level Principal meetings
• Create and architect foundational code elements that can be reused across a portfolio
• Develop POCs with new technologies and pave the way for portfolio adoption
• Track and monitor efficient usage of cloud resources and drive cost reduction opportunities and enhancements

Strategy and planning

• Work with a Distinguished Engineer to define technology solutions (open source or vendor) that teams should explore and/or leverage
• Work across local teams to unify strategy and alignment
• Identify and remove potential roadblocks and bottlenecks across large cross-functional projects and initiatives
• Participate in and influence development of technology roadmaps within a given portfolio
• Drive thought leadership and innovation within a given portfolio
