Full-Time Occupational Therapist Opportunity
Take the lead in shaping young lives as a full-time occupational therapist working with a diverse K-12 student population. This contract opportunity, starting ASAP and extending through the end of the school year, is conveniently located near Houston, TX. You will collaborate closely with an onsite provider, ensuring comprehensive support for both students and educators.
In this role, you will provide direct and consultative services to 86 students, and consultation for an additional 9. Your expertise will help empower students to reach their fullest potential by addressing fine motor development, sensory processing, functional daily living skills, and more within the educational setting.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active OT licensure in Texas (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes, progress monitoring, and educational collaboration
- Ability to manage a caseload and adapt interventions for diverse needs across K-12
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services according to IEP mandates to students with varied diagnoses
- Conduct student assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Document student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer consultation and recommendations to staff and families, focusing on strategies to support classroom participation and function
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to promote students' academic and personal success
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district guidelines
